Grant for Teachers!

SCBWI (Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators), has a grant opportunity called the Amber Brown grant, named after the beloved character of author Paula Danziger who passed away in 2004.  This grant is awarded to schools who desire funding to help bring an author to their school.  When I taught in school districts, we had an author come and talk with the students about their books, writing, illustrating, the creative process and sometimes even holding writing workshops in the classroom!  It is such a memorable and invaluable experience for the students, teachers and parents.  Follow this link to learn more about the grant and apply!
